Dave Gorman has a new blog. It is good, and has a very smart and sensible take on the BBC / Queen nonsense, which is... well, nonsense. Also, I find it slightly weird-in-a-good-way when I see him post on the Flickr forums. It's a bit like walking past a celebrity in the street or something.
Cool map of the Earth - if the oceans were continents and the continents were oceans.
I desperately want one of these Jedi-styled bike helmets although a) you can't buy them yet and b) I don't have a bike yet either, but the opportunity to put the fear of God into pretty much everyone you come across would more than make up for the sensation of intense claustrophobia, I reckon:

Russell Davies on the We Love Technology conference. Only Part One so far, mind you, but very interesting so far. Definitely agree that it's always inspiring to take note of the Art (as in grants / funding / galleries ) world - such a rich seam of ideas that are allowed to thrive outside of a commercial context. His Flickr set of notes reminds me to scan in a few pages from my notebook sometime, if only to reveal my compulsive doodling issues to the world.
Great quote from the speech What Do Teachers Make? by Taylor Mali: "I have a policy on honesty and ass-kicking. If you ask for it, I have to give it to you."
