lists and 101 things
Sunday, June 10, 2007

Whole bunch of stuff in my head happening right now... exciting, scary, stuff. For instance, I keep noticing themes emerging in my thoughts and research interests, and inspired by a bulletpoint list that Dan posted in his leaving post, I thought I'd set up a private page for myself to jot down big ideas onto.

The problem is that upon referring back to aforementioned list I'm confronted by things like:

  • built to torture?! power analog, extricate variables, haggle over the price, adaptive psychologies
  • craft as search, meditative hiveness, subsumed to will, earpiece chic
And have to spend bloody ages deciphering my own mental handwriting. It all makes sense eventually, though - or at least I think it does, seeing as I can't usually remember what I was originally trying to elucidate.

In other news, I've updated my 101 list - unsurprisingly, I am somewhat behind schedule, but I'm sure the pace of completion will suddenly accelerate for absolutely no reason in the near future. Incidentally, I've got at least one space to fill on my list (and a couple of others are looking a bit wobbly) so if you have any suggestions, just post a comment or something!

I finally got around to seeing Children Of Men which is completely awesome... the trailer makes you think it's mildly-predictable dystopian stuffs, which it is, but the execution (insanely long single-shot takes, fantastically bustling, detailed scenes) is blinding.
